Textile Collection
The Valdosta Museum has an extensive collection of textiles and accessories that are on display now. The display is called "From Frontier to Front Room" and covers the period from the 1830's to the 1950's.
Woman's Taffet Suit : Circa 1900
Tripple beaded collar, sleaves have netting and beading with scalloped
edges. The back of the jacket is midcalf with black beading to match.
Eleven inches of the jacket coat bottom have black a black beading
motif. The skirt is black on black pattern and has a black
ribbon on the bottom. All of the seams in the garment are hand
stitched. The skirt is fully lined.
Double Wedding Ring quilt top in pink and green.
Knitted coverlet with hairpin crochet joining. Circa 1900.
Conservation of a Kentucky Ron variation quilt made in 1860.
