The Caboose Through Time

According to the Norfolk & Western Historical Society, NW-557545 was stored for scrap at Roanoke, VA in 1990

The Caboose was stored for many years at Brooks Welding while a site was prepared at the Lowndes County Historical Society Museum.

Brooks Welding moved the Caboose from downtown in 2001 and to the Museum in 2004.

Union Tank Car Company cleaned, prepared, and painted the exterior

Our first Annual Blast in the Past History Festival
September 18, 2004.

The windows were installed in December 2004
and we had a birthday party by the Caboose in March 2005

The next phase of work is the interior of the Caboose.
